Take advantage of the waypoint feature to mark your favorite spots along your journey. You can also import and export waypoint files in GPX, KML, and CSV formats.

Coordinate formats are flexible and include NAD27 or WGS84 degrees, degrees minutes and seconds, UTM, or MGRS.

If you need to measure distances or bearings, our app has got you covered. You can easily measure distances in miles, feet, and kilometers, and determine bearings in true or magnetic formats.

When it comes to the maps themselves, we have chosen to use high-quality scans of the traditional USGS and NRCan topographic maps. These maps have been trusted by hikers and backcountry users for many years. For detailed information on the coverage and differences with the new "US Topo" maps, please visit our website.

Downloading the maps is quick and easy. The file sizes for US maps are around 8 MB and can be downloaded in just a few seconds with a typical home broadband connection. Canadian maps are larger in size. You have the option to use cellular data or WiFi for downloading, although WiFi is generally more reliable.
